How to Remove Perfume Stains from Clothes – 6 Easy Steps

Perfume smells great—but not when it leaves stains on your clothes! Here’s how to remove perfume stains quickly and safely at home.

Act Fast – Don’t Let It Set

Perfume stains set quickly! Blot the area with a clean cloth as soon as possible. Don’t rub—it spreads the stain.

1

Use Cold Water First

Rinse the stained area under cold running water from the backside. This helps push the perfume out of the fabric fibers.

Apply Mild Detergent or Vinegar Solution

Mix mild detergent or 1 part white vinegar with 2 parts water. Dab it on the stain and let it sit for 10–15 minutes.

3

Gently Scrub and Rinse

Gently scrub the area with a soft toothbrush or cloth. Rinse with cold water again and repeat if needed.

Wash and Air Dry

Wash the garment as usual (check care label first). Air dry—avoid the dryer until the stain is fully gone.
